Requirements for attestation of:

- The original copy along with photocopy of the document
- One passport sized recent photograph
- Valid Bangladeshi Passport (for attestation of any Bangladeshi document)
- For Signature attestation, the individual must come in person with valid passport

N.B.
- The documents originated in Bangladesh must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka (upon confirmation from Bangladesh authority the Embassy will do the attestation which may take time for minimum 5-7 working days)
- The documents originated in Sweden/Norway/Finland, must be attested by the concerned section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country
DEATH CERTIFICATE
Requirements
- Bangladeshi Passport of the deceased
- 2 ( two) passport size photographs of the deceased
- Death/Medical certificate issued by local authorities (FCO attested)

NB.
Death certificate is applicable only for a person holding Bangladesh passport. However, if any next of kin of deceased wishes, a certificate can be issued to facilitate carrying and receiving the dead body to Bangladesh for burial.

Nationals of Sweden and Finland who are also Bangladeshi nationals by origin are eligible for dual nationality. Bangladeshi nationals who renounced their Bangladesh nationality to get Norwegian citizenship can also apply for dual nationality. Applicants from Norway have to apply for Bangladesh Machine Readable passport first. After getting the passport they will be eligible to apply for dual nationality.

Voluntary Renunciation of Citizenship:
Bangladesh citizens in the process of naturalization in Norway need to renounce their Bangladesh citizenship prior to be recognized as a Norwegian citizen. Hence, they are not eligible for retaining Bangladesh citizenship and need to cancel their Bangladesh passport.
Requirements for issuance of Renunciation Certificate:
- Naturalization letter issued by Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI)
- Original Passport along with 01 photocopy of information page
- Duly signed Application mentioning present address with contact details
- Application signed by both their parents for children less than 18 years
- 02 (two) copies of recent Passport size photographs
- Commercial documents
- Copy of the Receipt of Payment
Fee: SEK 600.00 (non-refundable)

Process:
Upon receiving the application for Voluntary Renunciation of Citizenship Bangladesh Embassy, Stockholm will forward it along with original valid passport to Ministry of Home Affairs, Bangladesh through Ministry of Foreign Affairs for cancellation of the passport as well as for issuance of a cancellation letter. Upon receiving the cancellation letter from Bangladesh, the Embassy will issue the Renunciation Certificate.
Travel Permit:
Travel Permit (TP) is a document issued to a Bangladesh citizen who does not possess a valid Bangladesh passport. It is a one-way travel document for returning to Bangladesh. Applicant’s personal interview at the Embassy is mandatory for issuing a Travel Permit. Travel Permit is valid for a specified period (90 days only) and cannot be dispatched through postal/courier services.
Requirements for issuing a Travel Permit:
- Duly filled in Travel Permit application form (please click here Download Form to find the form)
- Copy of the current/previous passport or copy of Digital Birth Certificate (17 digit) or National ID
- 02 (two) copies of recent colour photographs (size: 55×45 mm) with white background
- Copy of the Police report if the passport is lost
- Receipt of Payment for TP to Embassy Bank account
- Commercial documents
- Physical presence of the applicant at the Embassy for an interview
Fee: SEK 110.00 (Regular), SEK 220.00 (Urgent), non-refundable
